Black Sea Vipers is a 5 mission campaign for the DCS H-60 mod that lets you experience a cruise as a MH-60 pilot.

For the first time in DCS experience get a real feel for naval aviation.

you might have seen one or two things I have put out over the years, like the Apache Hunting Ground, the Dispatch missions and the Grenzland campaign.

Being an SWO turned naval aviator I always wanted to do some proper Navy missions, but with no Navy helicopter module in DCS in the forseeable future one has to get creative. Luckily the H-60 came along and while it does not really represent any of the naval variants, it is close enough to create believable Navy taskings around it with some trigger magic. So a few month, input from GNY, RN and USN pilots and 160 voice lines later, here we are.

Introducing the BLACK SEA VIPERS - MH-60R 5 mission mini campaign.You will be part of HSM-48 "Vipers" onboard the DDG-103 "USS Truxtun". On this cruise you will be facing a variety of challenging naval aviation tasks:

-Recon
-PhotoOps
-Formation flights
-Boarding Operations
-Low Level IFR

But I have never practiced any of these tasks in the H-60, will I still be able to play this campaign?

As long as you feel confident in the H-60 you will be totally fine. The difficulty slowly increases and your co-pilot talks you through everything.


Why is there no Vert Rep?

The H-60 mod is currently able to pick up sling loads, but can not release them again, making this tasking impossible to implement.


Why does this campaign focus on the USN instead of the GNY, RN, Greek Navy, etc.?

Because they got the most suitable assets in the game. USN is the biggest user of MH-60 so they are an obvious choice. All DCS ships suffer scale issues, which is a bit of a problem with the H-60 tail wheel and the Arleigh Burke models have a flight deck big enough to negate this issue, while also being a very detailed models.


Why is procedure "X" not done way "Z"?

There are three main reasons why procedures themselves are being simplified in this campaign. 1. Expecting players to adhere to procedures they can never possibly have heard of does not benefit anybody. The goal is to let people experience what these tasks are like instead of providing a step by step recreation.2. Especially in regards to coordination the H-60 with its systems in the DCS enviroment can not simulate a 100% realistic information enviroment, even with heavy scripting. Some short cuts have to be made in order to work within the simulator. 3. For a lot of things there is a NATO way, a USN way and a squadron/ship way. For every "THIS IS HOW IT SHOULD BE IRL" there are at least three examples of how it is being done differently IRL.

Just a few days to release...

The DCS Mirage F1 is here on the 20th. Aerges was nice enough to ask me to preview the DCS Mirage F1 and I decided to give it a whirl. This brings another module into Cold War which is exciting. I am still getting my feet wet on the module and I will be diving deeper in it as I figure out all the systems.

This video serves as a purpose to give you my reaction to the module and how I think it will fit into the DCS Multiplayer scene. I look forward to doing some dog fights on this once it is public.

I have been a huge Mirage F1 Fan for a long time now, it has such a deep and interesting history full of political and ideological intrigue. Its also just a really cool and beautiful aircraft!

Introducing DCS: Mirage F-1 by Aerges

The Mirage F1 is a legendary single engine French fighter jet from the Cold War era. It has had an illustrious career serving with the air forces of France, Spain, Greece, Iraq and many other countries and has taken part in multiple conflicts. From its original role as an all-weather interceptor, it has evolved with multiple versions into a capable multirole platform.

jinak zkusil jsem tu miráž, dobře lítá; možná až moc dobře, daj se s tím dělat vylomeniny typu 50° alfy. Jen ten motor trochu anémie ale tak ta F1 prostě byla.
